Famed storyteller, Kaldr, crashes his ex-best friend, Saga’s, research presentation to get their bardic band back together—but with a debt coming due, does he have time to make amends?
A queer romp of Skaldic rivalries, cowboy ballads, movie musicals, and more, KaldrSaga carves queer myths out of the stories of heroes and gods.
“Inventively directed by Sarah J Culkin… the performances are go-for-the-gusto… Howard-Morison’s writing is bright and witty.”

Sarah J Culkin
Director
Sarah J Culkin is a theatre director and dramaturge from Edmonton (Amiskwaciywaskahian, Treaty 6 territory) currently living in Montréal (Tio’tia:ke, unceded Kanien’kehá:ka territory). Recent directing credits include Brick Shithouse (7-person fight show set in a warehouse), Re:Construct(ion) (bilingual 45-minute juggernaut about a perpetual gender reveal) and In My Own Little Corner (one-woman cabaret/game show about care work and grief). She is currently artistic and production assistant at Joe Jack & John in Montréal, and produced and curated Nextfest’s Smut Nite from 2019 to 2022 (Garden of Earthly Delights, Hell Bent for Leather). Her practice is focused on new work development and community-engaged storytelling and is deeply rooted in the prairies. Through every possible avenue she doggedly pursues joy, spectacle, self-determination and dialogue made possible through the ancient art of watching two or more people have an exchange under bright lights.

Harley Howard-Morison

Harley Howard-Morison (he/him) is a queer, ex-farm kid and Alberta-based writer of theatre and fiction. Mostly, he writes about faeries on the prairies— with a trashy sense of humour. His writing for theatre has been seen (or heard) with Cardiac Theatre, Workshop West Playwrights’ Theatre, Common Ground Arts/Found Festival, and Alberta Playwrights’ Network/Script Salon. As a producer, he co-created The Alberta Queer Calendar Project, which featured 13 radio plays by queer, Albertan playwrights in 2020, and worked with Theatre Network to rebuild Edmonton’s Roxy Theatre. He holds a BA (Hon) in Drama from the University of Alberta and a Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing from Humber Polytechnic. He’s so grateful to this team for all the love, skill, and silliness they’ve brought to KaldrSaga. Love, always, to Ash.
